Agnes Bernauer Solitaire Rules
Agnes Bernauer is a variation of Klondike, adding seven reserve piles, one below each tableau pile. Also, the first card of the first foundation is established during the initial deal, and is thus a random card rather than always an ace. All other foundations will also start with the same value. Spaces in the tableau may only be filled by a card (or group) based on a value one below the start foundation value. There is no redeal.
Number of Decks: 1
Initial Layout: Deal seven piles of cards face up. Deal one card to the first pile, two to the second, three to the third, and so on. Deal the next card to the first foundation. Below the tableau, deal a row of seven cards face up.
Object: Build four foundations up in suit from the rank of the first foundation card played, until all thirteen cards of each suit have been played, wrapping from King to Ace as necessary.
Play: Cards are built down in alternating colors. The top card is available for play to a foundation or to another pile. All cards in correct sequence may be moved as a unit between piles. Spaces may be filled only with a card one rank lower than the foundation bases.
The top card of each reserve is available for play only to the tableau. When play comes to a standstill, or earlier if desired, another row of cards can be dealt to the reserve from the stock.
