Spider is one of the best-known two-deck solitaire games. The four-suit version available here is the most difficult, compared to the one-suit and two-suit versions, which are easier to win.
Spider is played with 104 cards, the equivalent of two standard 52-card decks. In four-suit spider, all four suits (Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts) are used. The object is to eliminate all the cards from the tableau.
The tableau consists of ten columns of cards, the first four containing 6 cards each, and the last six containing five cards each. Only the top card of each pile is face-up; the remainder are dealt face-down. The remaining 50 cards are retained to form the stock.
Within the tableau, build cards in descending order (K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-A), regardless of suit. Runs of cards of the same suit may be moved as a group. Any card or group of cards may be moved into an empty space. When a complete sequence (king through ace) of a single suit is built, it is removed from the game.
When no more moves are possible, deal another ten cards (one onto each column) from the stock. If there are no more moves, and no more stock cards, you lose. If you manage to remove all the cards from the tableau, you're a winner!
